Our Story
Running the wastewater treatment plant at Deans for 33 years, with a work ethic second to none, my dad, never so much as called in sick, not even once. He'd done everything right, balancing time with his family while making sure he always provided for us.
He retired, planning to spend his newfound hours with those he loved, and he had a pension that ensured he'd never have to work again... or so he thought.
It's that devastating story that happens far too often, my dad was robbed of the majority of his pension, leaving him no longer able to just relax, thanks to what others had done to steal away what was rightfully his.
He did hardwood flooring on the side throughout the years as his family flooring business was well renowned within the community but at this point, he's sore and I'd say he's earned the gift of time that no one should've ever been able to rip away from him.
My grandpa made the most gorgeous wooden creations and my dad is following in his footsteps. I know he'd be so proud of how he's keeping his memory alive with these one-of-a-kind pieces that he too is passing down to those that matter most to him in this world.
The greatest gifts I've ever received are from my grandpa and dad, not only are they my favorite possessions I own, but I treasure them that much more, understanding they took that precious commodity to create these, the one you cannot get back once it's gone... their time. Showing you care through gifting hours in your day, whether it be to lend a hand or to sculpt a unique piece, there's truly no better way to let someone know what they mean to you than to give them this invaluable resource.
I went from thriving to just barely surviving thanks to the havoc Covid wreaked upon my small business, I tried to do what I thought was right based on how I was raised, which resulted in me losing everything and needing patience for the first time ever, which many did just the opposite of giving me a minute to get my bearings, instead, destroying my life's work that I'd only salvaged in order to avoid additional harm coming their way, as I would've been better off taking the path all others our size chose to follow yet they would not have fared so well.
For as long as I could remember, I believed with every ounce of my being that the harder you work, the luckier you become, yet March of 2020 proved there's an exception to this rule.
Initially, this broke my brain... the realization that I could've been a stay-at-home pup parent or mother, not worked one second of my adult life, and would've been in a better spot financially than I am in this moment, working nearly 14 years of 100+ hour weeks. Today though, I see it as an opportunity to rise above it and rebuild, feeling grateful to still have breath in my lungs, I'm determined not to waste a single second. And this time around, I get that even if you do it all right, it can still fall apart so I'll find a way to prioritize those that I love, because in the end, that's what matters.
Currently, it's only coasters, Wi-Fi cubes, and blanket ladders displayed on our site, but soon, you'll experience the unique beauty of the wooden pieces my dad has carved from the stump of a tree into priceless works of art.
When someone purchases a special handmade gift, it makes us feel that much more cared for, that much more loved, and these presents I've held close to my heart, never forgetting this thoughtful gesture from them.
Together, we'll turn this business into something wonderful, where my dad no longer does back breaking floors, and my life becomes not only manageable but amazing. I'm elated to be in business with my dad, and for anyone who knows him, you get it, he's pretty much the best.
I'm thankful you're here to be a part of this story as I turn the page and pen a new start, one where I'm determined to make the most of every day and never forget just how blessed I am. Thank you for your support, it means more to us than you can know!
